Market Locally, like a boss.

There are so many tools out there to explode your business.  This is typically the slow time of the year, which is great for revamping your website, marketing material, and creating goals for the upcoming season.

Prints Charming from Portland just listed a special in Groupon.  Check out his listing sent out to thousands of subscribers!  Good Luck Prints Charming!

Other great Promotional sites include:

FourSquare: Make sure your business shows up, its pretty easy to get your own listing to show up.  Create a special so that people see a special flag next to your business!

DealMap: This is a new one to me, but there are some good specials listed, so you should have your business posted, especially during your slow season.

PhotoScramble: It is free to host your own photo contest, and it is up to your creativity to structure the contest, another MorePhotos photographer Paul Zubrys’ contest was fun. “Uploads your funniest Baby Photos to win a complimentary Family Portrait Session.”  Nice job Paul!

Google Places: Every single photographer should be listed on Google Places, but I found it also comes in handy to have a coupon or two listed, depending upon the time of year.

Please share your ideas below!  Where else do you list your specials?  What do you have to be careful of with your specials?  Get some business!!!!

  1. Hi Zack, I’m doing many things to increase vivibility online and other marketing strategies. I contacted Groupon to find out about what they do and this is the reply I got. I have been in business in the same location for 28 years and they came up with this evaluation.

    Hi John,

Thanks for your interest in Groupon Now!

Groupon features deals based upon specific guidelines & criteria. In order to ensure a positive experience for our customers, we look at the online presence of your business, especially customer reviews, as a part of this assessment. Unfortunately, we have been unable to find the reviews necessary to determine whether or not your business would be a good fit for Groupon.

Specifically, we assess neutral third-party online reviews on websites like Yelp, CitySearch, Merchant Circle, Insider Pages, Yellowpages, RipOff Report, Google, Yahoo, Amazon, eBay, etc. We need to see significant reviews posted on sites such as these – not just testimonials – to help ensure a great experience for our customers and proceed with the next step of the verification process.

We apologize that we cannot feature your deal at this time. Once you have accumulated more reviews, we’ll be more than happy to look into your deal again.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help.

    Regards,

    Clayton M
