Selling big online

You have the perfect shot (way better than this one)

The composition is perfect, natural lines in the background pointing to the subject.  The exposure is supreme- nothing on the histogram running off the chart.  The rule of two-thirds is used and the lighting couldn’t be better as the image appears 3D, jumping off the paper (or monitor).

Your client will purchase a 30×40, framed right?

It still depends upon your sales approach.  Yep, as the owner of a photography business, your number one job is to sell your work.  Great work may sell itself, but it will most likely be in the form of a 4×6, or maybe an 8×10.  Congrats, you just earned dinner for tonight.  Let’s dream a little bigger.

Remember to always start with your biggest package, this is a package you rarely sell, and put the bells and whistles in this package.  THEN you present your money package.  This is the one you are passionate about selling.  Your client needs this package.  They can swallow the price because it is more affordable than the super deluxe package A.

As you probably already figured out, it is much easier to coach these sales in person.  Remember, this is coming from an online photography shopping cart company blog.

Here’s the secret: Sell the packages during your consultation/shoot.  Offer discounts for pre-paid packages, waive the sitting fee if they purchase certain packages ahead of time, etc.  Then if they don’t have time to return to your studio to make the final purchase, you just give your client a code to choose the images for their package.  Of course, this, and many more selling tools are available with MorePhotos.
