We found this interesting blog with a graph highlighting the most purchased cameras. Just remember all cameras have different features so think about what you will be using your camera for before you buy, read the blog:

So what are the favorite Camera GRAPH
It was a difficult process to do as we have over 50 opinions already expressed and many of them contain numerous ‘votes’ (my fault for making the topic so broad) but the following is an indication of what I’m personally observing in the conversation.
The ‘big two’ are Canon and Nikon – but there’s an interesting ‘battle’ going on at the second tier between Pentax, Fujifilm and even Olympus.
Canon and Nikon got a lot of votes particularly when it came to DSLRs (and Canon also did well for compacts) however Fujifilm was consistently nominated for best point and shoot – particularly with its low light sensor technology (I personally would concur with this as an owner).
Pentax was largely nominated for it’s DSLRs.
