Five Tips Hosting Your Own Successful Photo Contest

Five quick ways to ensure your photo contest is a success.  Even if you are a veteran at hosting a Successful Photo Contest, it’s always a good idea to measure twice and cut once.  Be sure to double check everything before the big launch date!

1. Email Campaigns –  Dont forget everyone loves to procrastinate.  The contest Spring Through Photos more than doubled its entries on the very last day.  We contribute the influx of entries from the due diligence of sending an email blast within 24hrs of final submission.   The contest gave 3 weeks to enter, however it wasn’t until that final email campaign the free ipad looked more enticing.

2. Take advantage of Social networks – Don’t forget to mention your photo contest on your Facebook business page, Twitter, and other social networks. To ensure a Successful Photo Contest, take full advantage of all your business relationships.  Be sure to communicate your  campaign dates wit us and we will mention your photo contest on our Facebook business pages to expand your audience.

3. Sponsors – Find a partner to help you in hosting the Successful Photo Contest. Think of other business that you already work with on a daily basis.  Sponsors can not only help with the prizes and votes, they can also increase your target audience.

4. Widget – Take Advantage of PhotoScarmbles Widget on your web page.  The contest will not only look great on your website, it will be branded as it appears on your website while not limiting to www.photoscramble.com.  You can see an example of how this would look here.

5. Have Fun!!! – Use the contest as a creative and interactive approach to spread your message.  Take advantage of the multiple voting methods available such as day, hourly, and unlimited to increase repeat traffic. The 2012 People’s Choice Award photo contest took full advantage of the one vote per day.  This is dramatically increased repeat visitors, while adding a new element of excitement.    Engage your audience, while making it something your target audience looks forward to weather it’s an annually, monthly, yearly, or seasonally event.
